We’ll get things a little sorted out here. Crazy logjams at the top and bottom of the Thursday standings. The top two are off but plenty of good games.
Early Games
Tequila Mockingbirds (5-4) -3 vs Lesbowlians (3-6): This looks like the closest matchup between these two teams in their history. The Lesbowlians got a much needed win and are currently out of the bottom six, but have little room for error. The T-Birds are all over the place, with quite a varied roster. They have already clinched a spot in the tournament.
Wrecking Balls (5-4) -5 vs Goldilocks (1-8): The Wreck is really struggling, but they have five wins under their belt. They went to the wire against Madbotts, and got crushed by a three win Guac team last week. Goldilocks is locked into the Bottom 6 but have a chance in this one.
#11 TDYOB (7-2) -1 vs #10 ICBING (7-2): A great rivalry, and this time it’s a big game. Both teams had the week off to prepare for this match. I imagine there was lots of training (drinking). Dr. Thunder and Peanut Gutter warmed things up with a 2v2 showdown on Friday. ICBING has won seven straight but the Dr. will do everything he can to get in their heads. Deep fried was ICBING’s surprise hero two weeks ago. Now she goes up against familiar opponents since the women of these two teams practice together to avoid the teams’ men. Roy Munson, game MVP. Fabio is the wild-card.
Snakes on a Lane (5-4) -9 vs Guacabowle (3-6): Snakes cruised last week. Actually, cruise isn’t the right word as they took an unbelievable 2 hours and 50 minutes to play their match. Ugly. Hopefully they speed it up this week. Guac is coming off a big win, and needs one more to stay out of the Bottom 6.
Late Games
#15 Sweet Rolls (6-3) -11 vs Pud’s Taxi (2-7): Should be cake walk for the Sweet Rolls (drum roll – cymbal!) They are making their move for a high seed, Pud’s looks locked into an April Fools’ day date with destiny.
#16 Happy Hands (7-2) -3 vs Balls of Fury (2-7): The Hands streak finally ended last week on the last frame of the game. They look to get back on track here against a desperate Balls team. I think Marv Gomez will keep the Hands on top.
#12 B.U.I. (7-2) -13 vs Madbottz (0-9): Well, at least it will be an interesting clash of styles.
Roll Another (3-6) -1 vs #14 UREA! (7-2): This one could be closer than you think. Roll Another actually has a higher average and came within one frame of beating Yay! last week, while UREA won but really struggled. Upset alert!
Lovernauts (2-7) -1 vs 5 O’Clocks (2-7): This game is actually pretty important for figuring out playoff seedings, but my guess is that these two teams probably won’t even know who won since they will have been too busy having a great time together. Going to be a total love fest.
If only every week was like Lovernauts vs. 5 o’clock somewheres! Love fest, indeed. I had a fantastic time. And congrats to Tha Ruckus on his 200+ game.
